UK indie factual producer Barcroft Media has become the latest content firm to head for the social network, bringing a brand-new original interactive series, Most Incredible Homes, to Facebook Watch.

In what could provide a welcome boost to the social network’s currently underperforming video service, Facebook Watch is coming together with MTV Studios to ‘reimagine’ ground-breaking series The Real World.

After spending the last eighteen months or so getting together a viable video proposition, the Snap social media platform has now made a step change with Snap Originals.

eMarketer’s latest ad spending forecast is predicting that 2018 will see US digital video advertising setting new standards, growing nearly 30% to $27.82 billion and making up a quarter of all US digital ad spending.

Social media behemoth Twitter has unveiled 50 new and expanded premium video content collaborations, including a dozen in India, to capitalise on its growth in the Asia-Pacific.

Just over a year since it was unveiled in the US, the Facebook Watch TV and video service is now available to users of the social network on a worldwide basis.
