After a period of worry due to planned cutbacks at the BBC, Welsh language channel S4C has had its short-term future assured; it will receive £74.5 million funding in 2017/18, the BBC Trust has confirmed.
Having spent the last few years importing the region’s best dramas, the BBC is looking to capitalise on the appetite in the region for British programming with a new production arm.
