Leading US Spanish-speaking network NBC Universal’s Telemundo is to launch in Venezuela this week through the cable operator Inter.

Operating together with Televisa Networks, Telemundo will offer the same programming that has become popular among Spanish-speaking viewers in 100 countries.

The agreement includes TV series, documentaries, talk shows and magazines. Among these are Caso cerrado (Closed case), Al rojo vivo (On the spot), 12 corazones (12 hearts) and the popular telenovela La reina del Sur (The Southern Queen).

In business since 1996, Inter currently offers a cable TV service in Venezuela with a network of more than 14,000 kilometres of fibre optics and is operational in over 70 cities around the country, reaching one million homes.
