3 DAZN secures new five year deal for domestic Serie A rights
DAZN has secured the domestic rights to Italy’s most important club competition, Serie A, and will continue to be the only platform to broadcast the whole of Serie A live. A new five-year deal has been announced, starting in season 2024-25.

Italian football fans can enjoy every Serie A match live on DAZN. Subscribers can access seven exclusive matches for each match day (266 matches per season) and three co-exclusive (114 matches per season). The sports streamer claims the deal confirms the company as the leader in European football, pointing to its long-term deals for Spain’s LALIGA and Germany’s Bundesliga.

Sky has acquired the co-exclusive rights to the three shared matches per match day (so 114 games per season). Sky also gains highlights for all 380 matches, archive rights for the current seasons, and exclusive rights to all Serie A matches for bars, hotels and other public venues.

Stefano Azzi, CEO at DAZN Italy, comments: "Remaining the go-to platform for Serie A TIM, and the main partner of Lega Serie A, demonstrates the solidity of the partnership developed in recent years. With a five-year horizon in front of us for the first time, after a tender that was based on sharing the expected growth in the Italian market, we have the foundations for a fruitful relationship with Lega Serie A and the Clubs.

“We look forward to innovative development that will further increase the value of the Serie A product by taking it to a wider audience.”

Sky says that, unlike the current cycle, its new package will include four big matches for each season and includes a significantly more favourable pick system. “This will ensure that Sky broadcasts some of the most important challenges for each round,” the broadcaster says.

Marzio Perrelli, Sport Executive Vice President at Sky Italia, says: “We have decided to increase our investment in Serie A to offer our subscribers a significantly greater number of top matches. From next season we will, in fact, have many more top challenges of the big teams in Serie A, broadcasting at least 30 of the best 76 matches in the league.”

The DAZN service in Italy includes Serie BKT, LaLiga EA Sports, and the best of the Liga Portugal Betclic. The multi-sports offer includes Italian basketball with Serie A UnipolSai, and European basketball with Euroleague and Eurocup. Fans will find the NFL, Rugby with Serie A Elite, boxing and UFC, among other things. The app also includes Eurosport HD 1 and HD 2 channels.
