A non-profit company with a stated mission of working to make the digital world better for kids and families, Common Sense Media says it knows what kids, teens, and families are watching, and what they want out of their entertainment.

The collaboration is designed to integrate Common Sense Media's metadata and age-based ratings with Fabric Origin's APIs. The new offering will provide what is described as a “seamless” delivery of trusted parental guidance for customers with a streaming B2C business who want to guide their subscribers on safe movies and TV shows for their families.

Fabric Origin customers can also use Origin’s IDs matched to the Common Sense Media data to power consumer guidance of what to watch. Customers who use Origin’s entertainment data to assist families in finding age-appropriate movies and TV shows are now said to be able to bring value to their subscribers and users to plan family night viewing by displaying the trusted Common Sense Media brand data.

“We are excited to work with Fabric Origin to enhance their family-friendly content offering," said Rhianwen Kyser, VP of business development from Common Sense Media. "The explosion of content across streaming services has underscored the need for trusted and easily accessible information that gives families the confidence to know what movies and tv shows are best for their family.”

“Integrating Common Sense Media's trusted brand and data into Fabric Origin's platform is a significant milestone for both our organisations,” stated Rhodes Mason, VP of business Development from Fabric. “In today's content-saturated world, ensuring that families can easily access age-appropriate content recommendations is of paramount importance. We are proud to be able to offer our customers a direct path to Common Sense Media's insightful age ratings, reviews, and curated lists, enriching their experience and supporting their quest for quality family entertainment.”
