Beginning the year acquiring an 80% stake in the scripted business of Endeavor Content, CJ ENM has ended 2022 with the news that Chang-Gun Koo has been appointed as new CEO of its entertainment division.

The business line is engaged in a number of industry business areas, including media content, music, film and performing arts, providing its leading original content to various media platforms around the world. It has created, produced and distributed globally-acclaimed content, including Oscar-winning film Parasite, Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots and record-breaking Korean films including Roaring Currents and TV series such as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and I Can See Your Voice.
Koo first joined the CJ Group in 2010 prior to his post as an analyst at Samsung Securities. He became CEO of global food service and culture company CJ Foodville in 2017 followed by his post as CEO of Korea’s No.1 health and beauty store CJ Oliveyoung in 2018.
In his new role Koo will oversee CJ ENM’s plans for global expansion and accelerate future growth engines to lead a new paradigm in the entertainment industry.
