As it builds its partnership with the leading UK indie production company specialising in high quality TV drama, distributor All3Media International has announced pre-sales for Drama Republic’s new period drama, The Confessions of Frannie Langton.

Described as a “ compelling murder mystery and searing depiction of race, class, and oppression set in the dazzling opulence of Georgian London,” the four-part series is adapted by author Sara Collins from her award-winning novel, and follows 20-year-old former slave girl Frannie Langton, as she journeys from a Jamaican plantation to the grand mansion of George Benham and his beautiful wife, Madame Marguerite. Soon after Frannie is gifted to Benham, she finds herself the prime suspect of a double murder. With no recollection of that night, Frannie must piece together the possible events and fight to tell her story.
The series is set to premiere on ITVX in the UK this November, as one of the new platform’s launch titles. In addition, pre-sales have already been snapped up in Europe, with Telekom/Magenta TV in Germany and Netherlands public broadcaster NPO. These sales join the previously announced co-production deal with BritBox, which will cover territories in North America, Australia and South Africa.
