Aiming to help online businesses and event organisers hit by the spread of Covid-19, cloud and edge solutions provider G-Core Labs is to offer any company 100 Tb of G-Core Labs global content delivery network (CDN) traffic for one month free of charge until 1 May 2020.

G CoreLabs 25Feb2020The CDN is said to have enough capacity to reduce the load on the servers of online entertainments, which allows online cinemas to work without delay, to broadcast theatre productions and concerts in high quality, and to deliver games anywhere in the world. G-Core Labs added that event organisers in particular can use the existing free cloud media platform tariff for online broadcasts or video-on-demand delivery with recordings of their forums, conferences, concerts and theatrical performances.

The G-Core Labs content delivery network is integrated with the company's cloud media platform and is said to be able to allow users to organise video broadcasts in full HD and 4K quality around the world without buffering, delivering content to any device. The cloud media platform combines tools necessary for live broadcasts and video-on-demand delivery such as transcoding, cross-platform HTML5 player, cloud storage and CDN.

“Due to the coronavirus pandemic, people around the world are switching to remote work. While self-isolated, they have to turn to the Internet to provide themselves with necessary information and food supplies,” said Dmitry Samoshkin, vice president of products at G-Core Labs explaining the nature of the offer. “Therefore, many online stores, as well as education and entertainment e-services, are unable to withstand the influx of users these days. We decided to support the business by opening free access to our global content delivery network during the period of high infrastructure loads. In turn, event organisers who launch online formats of their events can benefit from our multifunctional media platform, where the free mode has been running since last year.”

Users can activate free access to the CDN via link using the promo code ANTIVIRUS. Users can also choose a free media platform tariff including1000 mins of online broadcasting or 20 GB for video-on-demand delivery.
