Broadcaster Premier Sports has chosen platform as a strategic partner in order to capitalise on the brand’s capability to distribute content via fibre optic connectivity across the UK.

The tie-up will mean that customers will have access to sport content through Premier Sports 1 HD, Premier Sport 2 HD and Freesports which are currently available through subscription service to 16 million UK homes. The channel has UK rights to all Spanish and Italian football matches from La Liga and the Seria A respectively as well as showing rugby, ice hockey and car racing. sees the offer to consumers as unique in the UK market as it proposes what the company sees as a great value TV package combined with ultrafast internet access, something, it notes, other markets have been exposed to for quite some time.
