Aiming to ease the transition of its users onto the next-gen network, Orange is to launch its own branded 5G device .

Orange Nevajet 21Nov2019The operator  launched is first 5G network in Romania on 5 November and will be rolling out the next generation infrastructure around the key markets in Europe during the next twelve months. Device availability - and price - could be a key gating factor to the pace of development of the 5G industry, especially in Europe.

Tested on its 5G networks for early adopters, the smartphone will initially be available on existing 3G, 4G, and 4G+ networks in select markets in 2019, starting with Poland.

Orange says that the Neva smartphones will deliver rich experience with specially-tailored functionality meeting a variety of customer usages. Based on Android Pie OS software, the phone is formed of a 6.47-inch borderless screen with full HD+ definition.

With a theoretical maximum throughput of 2 Gbps, the phone is said to boast the required data capacity for services such as video streaming. Moreover, the operator says that the arrival of the Neva jet, at what it says will be a more accessible price than leading popular brand-name rivals, means that many more people will have access to the greatly enhanced 5G mobile experience.

Neva jet also comes with the Orange Experience allowing customers to tailor the content to their needs, driven by Livescreen technology which aggregates various streaming, news and entertainment partners. The Orange Experience, adapted to each Neva smartphone, also enables access to Orange TV to enjoy live or on-demand video.
