Bidding to offer a support for a new generation of compliance demands and to solve what it feels is an industry blind spot, VOD optimisation company for the film and TV industries, Looper Insights, has launched SEE for STB.

Lucas Bertrand Looper 18April2019The set-top box-specific solution is designed to enable studios and stores to get full visibility of any title in any store anytime whether on an OTT store, an MVPD, connected TV or other device. It delivers automated data designed to enable IP-owners to optimise their revenues across stores on traditional cable-and-satellite pay-TV services (MVPDs and vMVPDs).

In addition, Looper Insights SEE is designed to provide what the developer says is fundamental merchandising and compliance insights, enabling studios to understand how their content is being priced and promoted, and how this impacts upon sales.

This includes analysis of factors as sales data, merchandise, artwork, positioning and availability, enabling IP-owners to build a causal relationship between marketing and consumption, fine-tune placement and text, and initiate promotions to boost return on investment.

“Clients who use our data insights on their OTT stores, have been coming to us saying that they cannot get real-time data on set-top box stores. If you’re in LA or London how could you see the performance or positioning of your films on a store in another domestic or foreign market if it’s not OTT,” said Looper Insights CEO Lucas Bertrand (pictured). “So we have built a solution with our partners that solves a major blind spot for the industry.”

The company added that was currently trialling the technology with what it called a major studio and that it would be revealing details of the deal “imminently”.
