Transport infotainment platforms provider GoMedia has signed a multi-territory deal with Verizon Media to bring the latter’s Yahoo Search to the onboard infotainment systems on Greyhound buses in North America.

GoMedia Yahoo Greyhound 7Nov2019The iconic American coach company’s infotainment solution, is designed to offer a selection of films and TV shows and to enable passengers to browse the internet through a reliable connection, without tapping into their mobile data allowance. “As a leader in ground transportation, we are constantly implementing innovative ways we can enhance the travel experience for our customers,” explained Todd Koch, vice president strategy, marketing and customer engagement, Greyhound Lines.

“Working with GoMedia, customers can continue to enjoy our onboard entertainment while also taking advantage of our new Yahoo! Search functionality. This new component of our onboard entertainment system is just one of the ways we are continuing to raise the bar for what customers expect when traveling with Greyhound.”

GoMedia managing director Roger Matthews added: “As Greyhound further rolls out our solution to their bus fleet, passengers around the world will be able to benefit from using the onboard search functionality from their own device, without running up their data bill. We are constantly looking for ways to provide exciting and intuitive services for our customers, adding value to passengers’ journeys, and improving the onboard experience, and are looking forward to rolling the service out across our operator network before the end of the year.”

The Yahoo Search service launched  on Greyhound buses in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and will expand across GoMedia’s wider global network over the coming months.
