French public television advertising sales house France Télévisions Publicité has used AWS Elemental MediaTailor to power dynamic ad insertion for its iOS, Android and HTML France TV Sport application.

AWS logo 13Oct2019With an average audience share of 28.5% and 626 million video views across its platforms in 2018, France Télévisions offers five free to air channels in its home territory country, as well as the online video platform, a media rolling news service available across all devices, 24 regional channels in mainland France and, nine total media TV/radio/web channels serving French overseas territories (les 1ère).

AWS Elemental MediaTailor enables live ad insertion before delivery to a content delivery network for distribution. As FranceTV Publicité plans to expand ad insertion capabilities for future events, the broadcaster is looking to automate ad insertion by moving from an ad break trigger sent through an API call to enable automatic ad insertion with SCTE markers.

The cloud-based technology has already enabled targeted ad delivery for France TV’s OTT coverage of The French Open at Roland Garros and Tour de France. FranceTV Publicité and AWS continue to work together to propose new ad insertion experiences and projects in the upcoming months.
