Vodafone New Zealand is launching a new over-the-top (OTT) set top box this September, priced at NZ$179 (€106).

Vodafone TV NZ 6 August 2019 Pre-loaded with streaming apps including TVNZOnDemand, ThreeNow, Sky, Sky Sport, Netflix and YouTube, the range of apps supported by the plug and play Vodafone TV will be increased to include NEON, Lightbox, Amazon Prime Video and PlayStuff.

The 4K-enabled OTT box will not support Spark Sport, however, which holds the exclusive rights in New Zealand to the English Premier League, NBA and Formula 1, as well as the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

This incarnation of Vodafone TV will be available to all, not only Vodafone broadband customers, via retail outlets across New Zealand. Users will be able to manage their subscription through the Vodafone TV portal using their credit card.

“We’re confident Kiwis will love the new version of Vodafone TV and it represents a real step-up in terms of capability and experience. The standalone Vodafone TV will offer Kiwi consumers an effortless way to access the best content available locally and internationally, with an interface carefully curated for local viewers and your favourite apps and channels are in one place,” said Carolyn Luey, consumer director, Vodafone NZ.

“We will continue to look at ways to further enhance Vodafone TV alongside our overall customer service experience, which is a major focus area for the business.”
