Lebanon-based series Dollar is set to become Netflix’ next Arabic original, when it is available for streaming to subscribers around the world on 8 August.

NEtflix AbdelKaram 19Feb2018Featuring Oscar nominated comedian Adel Karam and Lebanese/Algerian star Amal Bouchoucha, the series is directed by Syrian director, Samer Berkawi (Al Hayba and Half Day), in his second collaboration with Netflix. The 15 episode series is produced by Cedars Art Production - Sabbah Brothers, and written by Hisham Hilal.

“I’m confident that the show will appeal to Netflix’ audiences worldwide. This project is an exciting one, bringing together themes of suspense and drama that showcase Amal Bouchoucha’s onscreen talents, as well as Adel Karam’s versatility beyond the comedy that he is known and loved for,” said Berkawi.

It is the second time Adel Karam has starred in a Netflix show, following the comedy special Adel Karam: Live from Beirut (pictured) which launched in March 2018.

Dollar will be streaming on Netflix from 8 August, subtitled in 20 languages to 148 million members in over 190 countries.
