Harvesting the fruits of the investment that it has made in the genre, independent distributor all3media international has signed a basket of new deals in Central and Eastern Europe for programming from its portfolio of gardening-themed content.

In Hungary, AMC Networks Central Europe has acquired a package of titles totalling 123 hours for air on its Spektrum Home channel later in 2019. The deal includes Britain’s Best Back Gardens (Spun Gold TV for ITV, UK), a three-part series presented by Alan Titchmarsh. Monty Don’s Japanese Gardens (Blink Films for BBC, UK) which sees Monty Don touring Japan's best gardens and season eight of BBC Studios’ long-running favourite Gardeners’ World (25 x one-hour), also presented by Monty Don.

The horticultural expert also features in a new deal signed in Slovenia where RTVS has acquired a 25-hour package of content headlined by Monty Don’s Japanese Gardens, a two-part BBC Two special from Blink Films and Alexandra Hendersen Associates following Monty on a tour of Japan’s best gardens, where tradition and modernity flourish side-by-side. The gardening guru is also currently filming in America for Monty Don’s American Gardens, a three-part special for BBC Two from Alexandra Henderson Associates, the show sees him visit big gardens, small spaces, private gardens and public all to better understand the USA.

Lithuania’s LNK has renewed on Spun Gold TV’s Love Your Garden, acquiring the latest eighth season (8 x 60’, produced for ITV, UK), having previously acquired all previous series of the show which sees Alan Titchmarsh and his team carrying out garden transformations.

Further recent CEE acquisitions include three series of Garden Rescue licensed by Croatia’s RTL and a package deal with First HDTV for Russia and CIS rights to Monty Don’s Paradise Gardens, The Secret History of the British Garden and series one of Love Your Home and Garden. The channel also relicensed Love Your Garden series four and five. In Poland, Gardeners’ World and Love Your Garden air on Domo+ alongside a range of titles fronted by Monty Don.
