Star Sports has renewed its rights deal with the Premier League to broadcast and stream English top flight football matches in India until 2022.

Premier League logo 17 JuneFollowing the three year deal, Star Sports will broadcast more than 250 Premier League games live across its network and stream all 380 matches live on digital platform Hotstar.

Although financial details have not been disclosed, it follows an earlier three-year deal which was worth $99 million or $33 million/year.

As the Home of sports, we are delighted to bring the Premier league to passionate fans in India and look forward to many fantastic seasons of football in the years ahead,” said Gautam Thakar, CEO, Star Sports.

Premier League director of broadcasting Paul Molnar said: “We look forward to continuing to work with Star to make the best Premier League action available to the many passionate football fans in India who closely follow our clubs and the competition.”

In addition to the live action, Star Sports will air daily shows such as Fantasy Premier League, The Football Show, FanZone, and PL Kick-Off.
