Data from Kantar Media has shown that Philippines media and entertainment company ABS-CBN has kept its place as the most watched TV network in the country in May 2019.

ABS CBN LOGOThe global audience measurement provider used a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent the total Philippine TV viewing population.

Overall , ABS-CBN registered an average audience share of 44% versus rival network GMA’s 31%. The broadcaster said that its Kapamilya network’s leadership in ratings was driven by programmes such as Brothers (FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano) which claimed a 37% share, keeping its spot as the programme that most Filipinos watch. Leading Filipino actress Angel Locsin’s action-packed The General’s Daughter followed closely in second place on 31.2%.

Search for the Idol Philippines (28.8%) remained as the leading weekend show nationwide, followed by ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast TV Patrol, well-watched through its 2019 midterm election coverage. Completing the top 10 were Memories (Maalaala Mo Kaya) with 25.6%, the afternoon drama Kadenang Ginto (25.3%), the weekend fantasy show Hiwaga ng Kambat (23.1%) and the weekend sit-com “Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet” (22.7%).

ABS-CBN also, particularly in primetime where it recorded an average audience share of 47% for all time blocks in May compared with GMA’s 33%. ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya network recorded an average audience share of 42% in Metro Manila, versus GMA’s 24%.
