Indian media group Network18 has elevated Avinash Kaul to become CEO of its broadcast division, after serving as chief operating officer.

avinashkaul network18 20May2019In addition, Puneet Singhvi, who served as digital head of Network18, now becomes president of the company’s digital & corporate strategy. Priyanka Kaul, who heads the company’s focus business and is president for marketing and special Initiatives, will also become CEO of Forbes India.

Network18 had elevated Avinash Kaul (pictured) as the COO in March. As COO, he oversaw the operations of all the company’s national and regional news channels. He is also the managing director of A+E Networks | TV18 .

Avinash joined Network18 subsidiary TV18 in mid-2014. TV18 Broadcast manages the broadcasting business. TV18 runs the largest news network in India, spanning business news, general news and regional news channels.

Since his appointment, Avinash has been responsible for the overall profit and loss responsibilities of all the brands he managed.

In March, Viacom18 unveiled a new organisational structure by creating three clusters and appointing a CEO for each cluster. The clusters comprise: English & business, Hindi, and regional language channels.

Basant Dhawan was appointed CEO of the English/Business Cluster; the CEO of the Hindi cluster is Mayank Jain; and Karan Abhishek Singh became CEO for Languages cluster.

The top level changes come in the wake of Joy Chakraborty’s exit in November 2018.
