UK broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned Glasgow based indie, Raise The Roof Productions and Motion Content Group to make life-change series Twice The Life for Half The Price.

Kate Humble raisetheroof 10May2019Earmarked for transmission later in the year, the 6x60 series sets out to help families desperate to transform radically their quality of life. Whether it’s a house by the sea or a chocolate-box country cottage in an idyllic village, the show gets people to leave their cramped and expensive suburban semi, and get on the road to the ultimate change under the guidance of presenter Kate Humble who will offer motivation, tips and a wealth of support.

“Over a decade ago I made a big move, waved goodbye to life in the city and set up home in rural Wales,” said Kate Humble. “It was a huge change and even though I had grown up in the country, I soon discovered I had lots to learn. I am really looking forward to meeting the families who are about to undertake this same journey, following their progress and hopefully being able to help and support them along the way. Will leaving behind the hubbub of city life help them achieve their dream of Twice the Life?”

Twice The Life for Half The Price was commissioned at Channel 5 by Emma Westcott, commissioning editor factual and features. The executive producer for Raise the Roof Productions is Andrew Jackson and the executive producer for Motion Content Group is Melanie Darlaston.

Andrew Jackson added: “It’s great to be working with Channel 5 and Kate Humble on this fantastic new series. Watching the ups and downs of people as they embark on this massive life change will be gripping and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”
