The personalised online TV service launched in the Republic of Ireland on 25 March and offers saorview live channels and on-demand content through one interface, for the first time to Irish viewers. The netgem.tv smart-home devices will be available immediately from the Irish versions of Amazon, eBay and through other retail distribution channels and broadband service providers in the forthcoming weeks.

“The way we view TV is going through a revolution and, at netgem.tv, we’re pleased to bring together the best of pay-TV with the best of free-TV to the Irish market,” commented netgem.tv managing director Sylvain Thevenot.

The netgem.tv range of HD box and connected 2-in-1 soundbar is now available from Harvey Norman, for a discounted launch price of only €99 for the TV streaming box and €249 for the soundbar. “We’ve innovated the TV streaming experience by combining live TV with pause and recording, together with internet streaming, reinventing TV with a simple, affordable, and intuitive TV service to suit every user,” said Aaron Duff, product and marketing manager for TV and audio Harvey Norman Ireland. “I think it’s really important that we have a TV service option with no monthly fees here in Ireland and now we have it.”
