While the first quarter of the year may have seen disappointment for Orange regarding revenues, slipping 0.1% year-on-year, its TV business has witnessed rising customer numbers.

orangeTV 1May2019 landscFor the year ended 31 March 2019, the company finished the quarter with 9.658 million IPTV and satellite customers, up 105,000 in the quarter and up 561,000 year-on-year. All markets saw a rise in TV subscribers in the quarter except for Spain.

Standout Orange TV performer was the company’s home territory of France which finished the quarter with 7.103 million subscribers, up 3.43% on an annual basis and up compared with the fourth quarter of 2018. Spain saw a sequential quarterly fall of 11,000 but a yearly rise of 10% to 705,000. Poland saw subs rise 11% annually and 2% sequentially to 943,000; Belgium and Luxembourg had such rises of 72% and 16% respectively to total 184,000 ; and in Central Europe these were 19% and 2.7% to 668,000 customers.
