Aiming to broaden the reach of screens that it serves and personalise OTT app experiences, US and Canadian subscription video-on-demand service PureFlix.com has reached a technology deal with global video app developer 24i Media.

The family-friendly, faith-based SVOD service claims a history of breaking new ground. first on its content and distribution strategies and now with its user experience. The company has now selected 24i’s SmartOTT solution as the front-end technology platform to deliver a more consistent and tailored experience for its apps across devices ranging from web to Roku, Android, Amazon FireTV, Chromecast, XBox, Smart TVs (select Samsung and LG models), iOS and Apple TV.

24i has integrated its technology into Comcast Technology Solutions’ D2C platform, creating the foundation for PureFlix.com’s offer which extends from ingest and transcoding to playback and monetisation. 24i’s SmartOTT solution was sees as the right match with Pure Flix’s need for a future-proof, cost-efficient solution that would enable its to quickly scale apps across all connected devices and platforms with a consistent UI.
