Leading production, distribution and international sales house Studiocanal, has sold a line-up of its high-profile French Canal+ Creation Originale productions to NENT Group’s Viaplay premium streaming service.

The productions will be available to Viaplay subscribers across the Nordic region in a bespoke strand entitled Vive La France, which will launch in June 2019. Drama series included in the deal include Section Zero, Paris etc and Interns.

Paris etc. is a twelve-part series produced by Les Films Du Kiosque and centres on the stories of five very different heroines as their lives cross over the course of a season with the city of Paris as its backdrop. Produced by EuropaCorp Television, Bad Company and Umedia for Canal+ France, the 8 x 60’ series Section Zero is set in the near future, where multi-national corporations are Europe’s new leaders. Interns is an 8 x 60’ medical drama where three inexperienced interns and a medical examiner who do not know each other must tackle a major situation head-on and handle a hospital department on their own.

Commenting on the commissions, Beatriz Campos, head of international sales TV series at Studiocanal said: “It is a pleasure to extend our relationship with NENT Group and we are delighted that the company has chosen some of the very best French drama available to launch its new strand. We are sure that Viaplay’s ever-growing number of subscribers in the Nordic region will find these internationally relevant titles with a unique French twist very appealing.”
