In the latest of a range of announcements and partnerships, Akamai has qualified Bitmovin as a video-transcoding partner.

Bitmovin Ladder 27Sep2018Akamai has worked closely with Bitmovin since first announcing its plans to retire its Media Services on Demand (MSOD) transcoding service. Akamai’s global customer base will be able to use Bitmovin’s transcoding solution as a fully integrated part of the Akamai NetStorage and Media Delivery products.

“Streaming TV providers, content creators and publishers using Akamai now have access to Bitmovin’s next-generation encoding capabilities,” said Jon Alexander, senior director, Media Product Management, Akamai. “We’re helping joint customers take advantage of the scale and capacity of the Akamai Edge and deliver high-quality video, optimised for delivery across multiple networks and to any device.”
