Bidding to strengthen ‘significantly’ its capabilities in handling larger international clients and scaling up the organisation and offer to meet the increased demand, Vionlabs has appointed Marcus Bergström as its new chief executive.

MarcusB vionlabs 26March2019The Stockholm based media tech company uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to understand the emotional context of content and use that unique data to create more accurate discovery. Its fingerprint technology is designed to help its customer move beyond current industry practices around metadata to create what the company believes is a truly personalised video-experience.

Bergström was the former CEO of Edge Gravity by Ericsson in Silicon Valley where he has a strong track record of scaling up SaaS ventures. He also holds a Master of Science from Stockholm University.

Following the appointment, Arash Pendari, founder and former CEO of Vionlabs will stay in the company and the leadership team and instead focus on the role of creative director and product evangelist.

With Marcus at the helm I am certain that we can increase the speed beyond what we ever thought possible.”
