Marking the channel’s arrival in Europe, real life entertainment leader Discovery is to launch its HGTV Home and Lifestyle network in Germany as a free-to-air channel.

HGTV 25March2019HGTV is the #3 US top performing cable network with hit shows including Flip or Flop, House Hunters and Restored by the Fords and will arrive in Europe in June 2019. The arrival will mark the first European launch of the brand since Discovery’s Scripps acquisition with further launches to come.

Discovery research has identified that 209 million people across EMEA are interested in home decoration, DIY and home improvement and billions of Euros are spent each year on DIY and home improvement. HGTV will give viewers access to content across six pillars; buying and selling, home renovation, flipping, home improvement and dream homes.

As well as a library of existing content, the HGTV audience in Germany will be able to access more than 500 hours of premier programme content per year. Key programme franchises include Flip or Flop, House Hunters, My Lottery Dream Home and Good Bones.
