Univision Communications has launched three new morning newscasts – to be aired in Dallas, Houston and Austin/San Antonio.

univision 15 march 2019All three Texas programmes mark the first time that local Spanish-language morning newscasts will be airing in those markets. Primera Edición DFW, Noticias 45 Primera Hora in Houston and Primera Hora Texas Central will air from 5-7am CST Monday through Friday and will provide viewers with the hyperlocal news, traffic, weather and information.

The premiere of the new programming comes on the heels of successful morning newscasts in Los Angeles, Sacramento and most recently in Chicago – in addition to the company’s recent launch of local news apps in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and the Bay Area.

Univision San Antonio and Univision Austin this week also unveiled new local apps available for download on the iOS App Store and on Google Play.

In addition to news, traffic and weather, the morning broadcasts will feature special segments focused on such key topics as immigration, health, personal finance, education, fitness, nutrition and entertainment, among others.

“We are more focused than ever on expanding our local news offerings to deliver our audience the news and information they need, when they need it most and across multiple platforms,” said Chris Peña, senior vice president of Local News, at Univision. “Supporting the needs of the Hispanic community in markets across the nation has been the hallmark of Univision since the company was formed over five decades ago, and we look forward to continuing that legacy with the new morning newscasts in Texas.”
