Southeast Asian video streaming service iflix is preparing to launch Mystified, its first original movie produced in the Philippines.

iflix Mystified 13 March 2019The action-fantasy drama will be available to viewers of both the free and premium video-on-demand (VOD) service from 29 March at 9pm.

Mystifiedtells the story of four sorceresses who, through their combined efforts, have banished the evil witch Hellga and locked her away with the Portalis. Sent to live in the real world to protect the magic portal – without permission to use any of their powers – they must come together to protect mankind from a great evil that is coming their way.

The film reunites Philippine screen stars Iza Calzado, Karylle, Sunshine Dizon and Diana Zubiri with director Mark A. Reyes V, who previously collaborated on the fantasy series Encantadia. Mystified also stars Sunshine Cruz, Mustafa Elezali, Matthias Rhoades, Jinri Park, JuneVee.

“iflix originals have enjoyed much success with premium drama series and comedy, so we are excited to expand our content offering to movies with the company’s first production out of the Philippines,” said Mark Francis, global director of Original Programming, iflix .

The movie combines high-octane action sequences and state-of-the-art CGI and visual effects and showcases local talent and industry, iflix added.

Concept creator and director Mark Reyes was joined in realising the fantasy world by the iflix Originals team, production designer Dax Dacanay, costume designer Biil Gustilo and director of photography AB Garcie.
