The celebratory advert of its 100th anniversary saw UK flagship airline BA break into the top ten of the 4C Insights TV ad rankings for the month of February.

UKAdRankingsFEBRUARY 8March2019The ad featuring British luminaries such as Academy Award winner Olivia Coleman, Gary Oldman and Riz Ahmed as well as boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been viewed over 7.3 million times on YouTube. In addition, the rankings showed that from 1–18 February the ad generated 1,262 ad minutes, running 1,562 ad spots.

Overall though, We Buy Any Car took first place with 1,666 minutes on 5,075 ad spots while traditional ad heavyweight Compare The Market’s fell to third place with 1,637 minutes from 4,397 spots.
Neither of the two websites released new adverts in February, with We Buy Any Car’s Daredevil’ ad, featuring Phillip Schofield, jumping to number one while Compare The Market’s AutoSergei advert, released at the end of December falling down two places.

In terms of social lift, the 4C Insights analysis saw CE giant Samsung join the top ten in to sixth place with an increase of 432% in social engagement following the release of the two latest additions to the Galaxy series – Galaxy S10 and its Galaxy Fold. Overall, mobile operators BT and O2 saw the most social lift during the month. The telcos generated 137.6% and 119.3% TV social lift from 7,422 and 1,049 TV spots respectively.
