Kathmandu-based Himalaya TV HD (HTV) has sealed a carriage deal across Nepal and the Asia-Pacific with regional satellite operator Measat.

MEASAT COO Yau Chyong Lim 4 March 19The agreement sees the private TV network broadcast via the Measat 3 satellite, providing multicultural viewers with a mixture of news and entertainment content.

“It gives me immense pleasure that Himalaya HD is on the Measat platform. Measat-3 was selected for distribution because of its excellent coverage, reliability and expanding presence in the region’s HD video neighbourhood,” said HTV chairman Dharma Raj Bhusal.

Measat COO Yau Chyong Lim (pictured) said: “We are pleased to collaborate with HTV to distribute Himalaya HD to audience across Nepal and Asia Pacific. The addition of Himalaya HD, the latest HD and widely embraced infotainment channel in Nepal, greatly enhances the line-up of high quality HD genres on our key video slot at 91.5°E”.

The deal raises Measat’s video neighbourhood in Nepal to eight channels featuring news, general entertainment and factual programming.
