The Indian version of Criminal Justice and The Office are among the first four Hotstar Specials, soon to be released by Star India's streaming service in partnership with Applause Entertainment.

Hotstar logo 4 March 19The original shows, which start streaming this month, are an Indian adaptation of the British series Criminal Justice; Indian version of UK cult comedy The Office; international thriller Hostages; and City of Dreams - a political thriller based in Mumbai.

“With Hotstar Specials we hope to create the biggest Indian stories delivered to a billion screens. To bring this vision alive we are proud to partner with Applause Entertainment on our first set of Specials,” said Sanjay Gupta, MD, Star India.

Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia’s Criminal Justice will star Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathi, Mita Vashisht, Anupriya Goenka and Jackie Shroff. The Office is being helmed by Rohan Sippy, Debbie Rao and Vivek Bhushan, and features an ensemble cast.

Nagesh Kukunoor directs City of Dreams, starring Atul Kulkarni, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Eijaz Khan, Priya Bapat and Siddharth Chandekar. While thriller Hostages is directed by Sudhir Mishra with Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra and Parvin Dabas in leading roles.

Hotstar Specials will be available on the over-the-top (OTT) platform in seven major Indian languages.
