The first season of the 7 x 60’ live-music docu-travel series has been sold to Brazil’s TV Globo, as well as airlines in the US, the UK and Italy via deals with inflight specialist Spafax.

Produced by City Drive Group, Landmarks Live in Concert is hosted by Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith who delivers a mix of musical knowledge, personal stories and insights into the history, art and culture of the locations. Among the series-one highlights are Foo Fighters playing at the Acropolis of Athens and Alicia Keys performing her anthemic Empire State of Mind in front of the Statue of Liberty. Andrea Bocelli at Palazzio Vecchio in Florence, and The Black Eyed Peas at London’s Royal Albert Hall, The Kings of Leon at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Prophets of Rage at The Stone Pony in New Jersey and Braid Paisley at West Virginia University complete the line-up.

“On the back of the global interest in Landmarks Live in Concert, which is part music documentary and part travelogue, there’s been a notable uptick in demand for travel series that open windows on new worlds,” said David Cornwall, founder and managing director of Scorpion TV. “In today’s divisive climate, there’s never been a greater need for programming that celebrates our common humanity, be it musical, artistic, cultural — or just the fact that we all share this amazing, surprising planet.”
