Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) is hailing 2018 as a success after it added 7.6 million subscribers and recorded ratings success for its bouquet of pan-Asian channels.

Subscription growth was aided by new deals in Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar, for the network’s Celestial Movies, CCM, KIX, Thrill and Miao Mi  services. New partners for 2018 include Korea Telecom’s olleh tv and LG U+ in Korea; Vietnam Television Cable Corporation’s VTVCab, Viettel’s nextTV and FPT Telecom’s FPT in Vietnam; Telkomsel’s MAXstream in Indonesia; and CANAL+ Myanmar FG in Myanmar.

In the Philippines, KIX, Thrill and Celestial Movies Pinoy were among the top 20 cable and satellite pay TV channels during 2018 according to data from Kantar Media. KIX retained its top sport of regional English general entertainment (GE) channels in 2018, growing its national audience by 17%, while Thrill grew 33% in 2018, said CTE. Celestial Movies Pinoy was also among the top five highest-rated channels among all pay-TV channels on Cignal’s platform, doubling its audience size last year.

In Singapore last year, cHK, CCM and CM were amid the top 20 most-watched pay-TV channels among Chinese audiences, according to SG-TAM data. CTE’s cHK was the third most-watched channel of all Singtel’s pay-TV channels, growing its audience by 19%.

In Malaysia, CCM, CM and CMHD hit the top 20 most-watched pay TV channels among Chinese audiences in 2018. These three channels were also the three most-watched movie channels for Astro Chinese audiences, and KIX HD was the 2nd most watched regional English GE channel on Astro during the year, according to CTE citing Kantar Media (Malaysia DTAM).

In Indonesia, CCM and CM were in the top 20 most-watched pay TV channels among 5+ and 20+ audiences in the second half of 2018, according to Nielsen Indonesia data.
