Indian cricketing legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni is joining forces with Banijay Asia, helmed by industry veteran Deepak Dhar, to create exciting content across varied genres.

The partnership between Dhoni Entertainment and Banijay Asia aims to create premium content for multi platform distribution in Indian and South East Asian markets.

Banijay Group entered the Indian and South East Asian market in 2018 under Dhar’s guidance. With over 20 years experience across platforms prior to joining the global independent content producer, Dhar is behind some of Indian television’s biggest ratings successes including Bigg Boss, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, and Khatron Ke Khiladi.

“The Bigg Boss, Mr Deepak Dhar has been introducing disruptive content to the audiences since more than two decades,” said MS Dhoni. “I am really excited to join hands with Banijay Asia, I am overwhelmed and looking forward to creating exciting content for my audiences. I hope with this partnership I keep up to the expectations of my fans who have been supporting me and looking up to me. In 2019, we promise to create energising, exciting and enthralling content for the audiences across platforms.”

It is the latest partnership for Banijay Asia, following a recent tie-up with Salman Khan’s SK TV to bring back hit comedy The Kapil Sharma Show. Banijay Asia has also produced Ruskin Bond’s Ghost Tales, Hostages, ARRived with AR Rehman, as well as region-specific shows like The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (Telugu) and Divided (Tamil).
