Banijay Asia will now produce all the new series of the two singing talent shows for Star India.

“We believe that with Star we have found an excellent home to continue the growth of The Voice franchise, and to let it flourish to its full potential in India,” said Maarten Meijs, COO Talpa Media & managing director Talpa Global.

Gaurav Banerjee, president Hindi, GECs-Star India added: “Star Plus has always been at the forefront of bringing the best of the world content to Indian television. We love The Voice, we hope to make it immensely loved across the country and unearth awesome talent that can enthral!”

The Voice, which first aired in 2010 in the Netherlands, is all about vocal talent – where blind auditions are utilised when top recording artists select unknown vocalists to coach through the ensuing competition.

Deepak Dhar, co-founder and CEO at Banijay Asia  said: “As a world-renowned and highly successful franchise, The Voice has huge potential to perform incredibly well in India. We have the perfect partner in Star and are confident we can take the show to new audiences and new heights."
