Snapchat Discover is launching in India, following the successful rollout of the social camera app’s local publishing content offer in the UK, France, Germany, Norway and the Middle East.

SnapChat India What a Player 30 Nov 2018Content curators, entertainment studios and publishers in India to join the platform include VICE India, Pocket Aces (FilterCopy and Gobble), TVF (The Timeliners, Girliyapa, and The Viral Fever) and QYOU (The Q India). Brut. India, The Quint, HuffPost India and The Logical Indian also join music and cultural content from Saavn’s OnRecord, and Bollywood and beauty highlights from MissMalini Entertainment on Snapchat Discover India.

Snap’s Discover partners will create short form videos and made-for-mobile stories across multiple genres. All content will be produced in an immersive vertical, full-screen format. Each media partner will create their own editions independently.

The time spent watching Shows on Snapchat globally has more than tripled since the beginning of the year and in Q3 of this year 21 unique Shows in Discover reached a monthly active audience of over 10 million viewers.

TVF shows What a Player, Gossip Girl and Style Wagon have now launched on Snapchat, with more shows set to follow, Chaudhry said.

Discover first launched on Snapchat in January 2015 with 18 brand partners and now includes over 100 around the world.
