Eutelsat is adding the new Ultra HD HDR entertainment channel 4KUniverse to its Hotbird satellite neighbourhood, to reach viewers in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

4KUniverse 18 Oct 2018The channel, which offers original series, films, documentaries, sports and primetime programming in 4K HDR, will launch on Hotbird on 1 November. From there it will be able to reach key regional cable and IPTV networks.

Available as a cable TV channel and as a direct-to-consumer streaming service priced at US$10 per month, the 24 hour encrypted channel is encoded with Wide Colour Gamut, at 50 frames per second (50p), HLG HDR and colour space enabling 1.07 billion colours.
