Chilean network Chilevisión, which is owned by Turner Latin America, has commissioned a local adaptation of the format, to be produced by Chilevisión and produced in association with The Gurin Company.

Fittest Family was originally commissioned by RTÉ One in Ireland, produced by Kite Entertainment and Animo TV – the show is now set to launch its sixth season next month. It sees 12 mega-fit families compete in a series of physical tests and challenges to win the coveted title of ‘Fittest Family’, along with cash prize. Four local sports legends mentor the contestants to help them reach their personal best.

“We’ve long wanted to see Fittest Family travel beyond Ireland, and so are beyond delighted that Chilevisión are now bringing this great format to Chilean viewers,” said Darren Smith, founder of Kite Entertainment. “We wish the producers, coaches and families all the luck of the Irish as they take on the swamps, ramps, cranes, walls and muck that have made Fittest Family the giant hit we’ve loved making over the last six seasons.”

Magnify Media  acquired the rights to Kite Entertainment’s Fittest Family in 2017. The deal with Chilevisión was brokered in association with new distribution company Maluc Entertainment, which was launched this year by former Televisa Head of Global Entertainment Ricardo Ehrsam.
