In the first deal, the production company unveiled plans for Eco-Challenge 2019 from MGM Television and prolific Emmy Award-winning producer Mark Burnett. The programme outlines what is said to be the toughest global outdoor-multi-sport endurance race on Earth and is hosted by Bear Grylls. The ten-episode event series will pit teams of four competitors selected from around the world against each other and nature’s harsh elements in this gruelling 24-hours a day, multi-day race. It will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

The company also announced that it signed an overall television deal with award-winning writer Neil Gaiman. The creator of the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Good Omens and the Hugo Award-winning book American Gods, Gaiman will exclusively work with Amazon Studios on the creation of television series which will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video.

In Germany, Prime Video announced that it has greenlit a first season of the live action series adaptation of the Bibi & Tina franchise. The series will be the sixth German Prime Original Series and goes into production in 2019. The new family entertainment series is about Bibi, a teenage witch, and her best friend Tina and their many adventures. It reflects the existing franchise’s central themes of the value of friendship, family, trust, tolerance, ecology and sustainability.
