Bringing its total number of customers to more than 350, app-based pay-TV video streaming platform MOBITV has secured a slew of hosted streaming delivery rights deals from major networks in the US.

The company says that the 90 new deals — with providers such as Bloomberg Television, Discovery, MGM HD, Newsmax, Outside TV, Smithsonian Channel, Stingray Music and Univision — shows how it is continuing to solidify its position as the go-to provider helping operators retain subscribers and compete, while simultaneously making it easier to offer next-gen services through simplified content distribution methods.

These new additions will see further use of the MOBITV Connect managed service even, based on a business model that doesn’t require material capital outlays or an upgrade to traditional headend infrastructure. In June of this year, MOBITV announced it was the first multi-tenant video delivery solutions provider to secure hosted streaming delivery rights from providers such as A+E Networks, AMC Networks, Crown Media Family Networks, C-SPAN Networks, Disney and ESPN Media Networks, SHOWTIME and Viacom.

“The content community continues to support the MOBITV managed service offering and we continue to sign more operators as a result,” said Charlie Nooney, CEO and chairman of MOBITV. “Feedback continues to be that our platform provides viewers a great experience and allows operators the ability to maintain a competitive edge in the market in a cost-effective manner to their pay-TV and broadband subscriber base. Adding more networks has put us in the lead within the marketplace, as we now have almost all possible channels within the cable line-up and continue to grow what we believe is giving us a competitive lead.”

“We have a core vision of being everywhere our audience is with the best in sports, news, entertainment and beyond,” added Univision Communications Senior Vice President, Product and Technology Scott Levine. “Working with MOBITV helps Univision move closer to its vision, by enabling our partners – and our collective audiences – access to Univision’s programming everywhere they want.”
