Indian direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV operator Airtel Digital TV is engaging Tata Elexi to build the application software for its forthcoming hybrid set-top box .

Tata Elxsi is delighted to expand our relationship with Airtel and bring the benefits of this alliance to Airtel’s subscribers,” said K P Sreekumar, VP and head of broadcast business at Tata Elxsi .

Airtel Digital TV, which now serves more than 14 million subscribers in India, has recently contracted Irdeto to secure all content offered on both its DTH satellite service and internet platform.
