Video experience data provider Mux has launched the Live Streaming API, for developers looking to support scalable live video on mobile, desktop and TV.

Mux RealTimeStreaming28Aug2018“We built the Mux Video Live Streaming API because we know first-hand how difficult it is to handle live encoding and streaming at scale,” explained Mux CEO and co-founder, Jon Dahl. “Building file-based video streaming is hard enough, and live is ten times more difficult. We’ve made it easy for any developer to support scalable, high-quality live video with just a few lines of code.”

Once a live stream is provisioned with Mux, it’s available for immediate streaming; and after a live stream finishes, a file-based archive is instantly available. Thus, developers can build web or mobile applications that let their users stream video in, says Mux, a matter of minutes, thereby significantly speeding up time to market.

is announcing the launch of the Live Streaming API off the heels of its Real-Time Streaming Dashboard launch.
