In a bid to strengthen a market status that it calls ‘global production powerhouse’ ITV Studios (ITVS) has announced several new commissions and renewals of its leading formats around the world.

itvs 10Sep2018To this end the global production arm of ITV plc has announced multiple new and returning format commissions in Australia, France, Germany and the Nordics.

ITVS Australia is to produce the first ever local version of the UK and Germany’s number one family variety show, Saturday Night Take Away which will be retitled Sunday Night Takeaway locally, for Network Ten. The live show featuring challenges, celebrity guests and massive surprises will be hosted by Chris Brown and Julia Morris whose partnership on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has earned them the title of Australia’s favourite duo. A fifth season of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has also been commissioned by Network Ten and will be produced once more by ITVS Australia.

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here also features in France where the local arm of the company is to produce a new season of for TF1. The commission comes alongside recommissions for ITV Studios-owned Talpa Media’s global talent show The Voice season eight, as well as a tenth season of the bridal rivalry format Four Weddings.

In addition, the first season of the celebrity ice-skating format, Dancing on Ice, is currently in pre-production in Germany and is produced by ITVS Germany for SAT.1 (ProSieben). The second series of smash hit Love Island is soon to air in Germany on RTL 2. The first was the most-watched show on RTL’s Now catch-up service.
