The latest TV ad rankings from 4C Insights for the month of July has shown that flight, hotel and car hire search engine provider Kayak has set course to make waves in the UK TV advertising industry.

4CinsightsJuly2018As its Travel Pro Lauren Johns’ ad campaign  — starring the travel pro, chef and café owner who demonstrates to viewers how Kayak provided her with the best travel sights and flight deals — gathers momentum, the company has leapt from seventh to second in the overall rankings in terms of total ad minutes. Putting this into perspective, Kayak now outguns the likes of Compare The Market, McDonald’s and Talk Talk. Direct Line retained overall poll position in June with its ‘Direct Line for business’ campaign.

Splitting reach in terms of free-to-air and pay-TV, Kayak ranked second and ninth respectively. The FTA top three for July 2018 in terms of ad minutes was McDonald’s, Kayak and Compare The Market — with Direct Line way back in seventh place — and for pay-TV was Compare The Market, Direct Line and Lloyds Bank.

Looking at social lift, 4C Insights calculated that Virgin Media retained its top spot for yet another month with it’s ‘Switch to Super’ ad campaign. The cable provider has in August 2018 launched another ad to follow up on the series promoting its broadband speeds and super entertainment offering.
