US communications giant Verizon has selected Vubiquity to provide processing and packaging for Fios video on-demand (VOD) and pay-per-view (PPV) portfolio.

The deal also includes a content licencing component, which is an extension of a prior relationship between the two.
“Verizon remains vigorously focused on making content personal, with video that can go anywhere to meet the demands of even the most discerning customers,” said Heather McDavitt, vice president of Verizon Fios Consumer Products.
As the bridge to over 630 content owners, Vubiquity will supplement Verizon’s collection of assets across existing and future formats, including 4K and High Dynamic Range (HDR). In addition, Vubiquity will make the media and entertainment available in a variety of business models, including TV on-demand rental, PPV and electronic sell-through (EST).
“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Verizon as they continue to innovate for consumers across the complex and transformative media landscape,” said Darcy Antonellis, head of the Media Division at Vubiquity parent Amdocs.
