Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC) has launched an over-the-top (OTT) video service VTC Now, using cloud DVR technology from Anevia.

Anevia Gregory Samson 17 May 2018Anevia’s NEA-DVR with EDS hyper-convergent storage system promises VTC Now subscribers unlimited recording on every screen, without the need of a set-top box.

The OTT and IPTV software solutions company claims the system also reduces operational costs with the Infinite Buffer, streamlining asset and storage management. By only keeping content that viewers have effectively recorded, it optimises storage and provides four times more infrastructure capacity to operators.

Anevia’s EDS system embeds storage on servers, reducing the number of physical rack units necessary in a broadcast facility.
Local partner BMTS Media Technology and US video cloud provider Brightcove were also instrumental in delivering VTC’s mixed cloud-based service platform with an on-premise storage platform for streaming **OTT https://www.rapidtvnews.com/2018051452095/ott-drives-mexican-pay-video-market.html#axzz5FhlgRMsy** service.

“Our priority at VTC is to offer the best experience to our subscribers and today this includes providing our new OTT service. We have been very impressed with the way the Anevia solution enables us to do this while giving us the flexibility to offer compelling new pricing models,” said Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, VTC Now project manager.

Grégory Samson (pictured), executive VP of worldwide sales, Telco & Media, Anevia added: “We are delighted to make this contribution to VTC’s new OTT project and to work with **Brightcove https://www.rapidtvnews.com/2018050851991/sonyliv-opts-for-brightcove-cloud-services.html#axzz5FhlgRMsy** on the integration of NEA-DVR and EDS within the wider system. A few years ago, we made the strategic decision to address the APAC market and this latest prestigious win further builds our momentum in the region”.
The VTC Now app is available for iOS and Android-based devices.
