In the latest of a number of corporate changes, which it says reflects its ambition to develop and expand a portfolio of ‘hyper growth’ global digital companies, MTG has added to the executive team that will manage its new strategy.

viaplay 11august2017Finding the magical managerial formula is essential for the Nordic pay-TV group which is trying to recover from its failed attempt to sell off key assets to Danish telco TDC and execute successfully on its subsequent proposal to split into two divisions.  To this end, the new MTG will comprise MTG’s current esports (ESL, DreamHack and ESEA), online gaming (InnoGames and Kongregate) and digital video content (Zoomin.TV, Engage Digital Partners) operations, as well as other minority holdings (Comosa AG and BITKRAFT).

Driving the new company will a board which has just added Peter Nørrelund as EVP, head of product development and incubation, and co-CEO of DreamHack and Johan Levinsson as MTG group general counsel. Levinsson takes up his new position from 1 July 2018 as does Nørrelund who also becomes DreamHack Co-CEO with immediate effect.

Commenting on the additions, Jørgen Madsen Lindemann, MTG  president and CEO said: “Peter Nørrelund and Johan Levinsson have both played key roles in building MTG’s position as a leading global digital entertainer. Their experience and passion will be instrumental as we develop and expand our portfolio of hyper growth global companies in esports, online gaming and digital video content.”
