Expanding their on-going agreement, Netflix and Guillermo del Toro are to produce Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight, the company’s first original horror anthology series.

guillermo del toro 16 may 2018Through this show, the Academy Award-winning Mexican filmmaker will present a collection of personally curated stories. del Toro will bring his own visionary style as both a writer and director to certain episodes.

With this first live-action series, del Toro and the subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader have extended their collaboration which began with the animated series Trollhunters, whose third season is set to premiere on 25 May.

For the horror action series, del Toro is teaming up with The Shape of Water producer J. Miles Dale, who serves as executive producer, and Gary Ungar. During the last edition of the Oscars, The Shape of Water earned four Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Production Design).

His experience within the horror genre is comprehensive, including dark fantasy pieces such as The Devil’s Backbone or Pan’s Labyringh, the vampire superhero action film Blade II, the supernatural adventures Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and the science fiction monsters-versus-robots film Pacific Rim.
