Pan Arab free-to-air broadcaster MBC has acquired the children’s TV series Cuby Zoo from Italy’s Mondo TV.

cuby zoo 8 May 2018The licence allows MBC to broadcast the show via cable and satellite exclusively in the Middle East and North Africa for 24 months in Arabic, English and French.

Based on a line of plush toys produced by Aurora, the series is co-production between Mondo TV and Auora.

The content licence also provides MBC with the non-exclusive right of transmission in Arabic via satellite and cable across the world for 36 months.

Mondo said the confirmation of the series’ sale to MBC represented a further strengthening of commercial ties between the Italian company and the UAE, where MBC is headquartered. The deal also offers new possibilities for merchandise and licensing of the Cuby Zoo property in the Middle East, said Mondo TV.
